Control over your data:
Every users (which include existing and new sign up) have right over their data. Every users are receiving three emails during the steps of delivering your files to the recipient:
Confirmation that their message and files was successfully send to delivery.
Confirmation that their files was downloaded from our servers which are hosted on AWS S3.
Confirmation that your files was successfully deleted. This depend on the retention policy selected when uploading your files.
Pro users have a better control over their data due to file management system which allow them to delete upon their request. Free users need to stick with the two weeks data retention policy, but can track where they files are in the process of a successful delivery.
We use third party providers to operate our service. For storing your files we choose a leader in cloud storing solutions which also offer a 99,99% uptime and availability of your files.
Please visit AWS S3 privacy and terms of conditions for more informations at
Your security is our priority. When a user stores a files on our server we assure that nobody even inside our team will be able to retrieve any of that informations.
When a user request a upload from SendFiles, it is automatically stored on our own servers where it wait to be process and encrypt. Your files aren’t encrypted on S3, but in our own servers firstly. After it was process which mean was added to our database which will create a public link, add insurance policies and quality to it to make sure it will be delivered and a unique code in internal to make it identifiable by our team in case of a reporting request. After that process it will be send over S3 to upload, where it will be again encrypted with AES 256 on the cloud and be available. Every of this happen in a matter of seconds.
If you clicked on your download links directly after upload, you may see : We are processing your upload, please try again later. This is extremely rare, but this mean it is waiting to be process in our servers. Sometimes you may suffer from this problem when the available bandwidth is not able to process your request at this moment (Pro users have priority on the bandwidth, it is really rare even for a free users to have bandwidth issues) or it can happen if your files is really larger (over 60GB/ this limitation is only available for private network and enterprise users account where there’s no limits of uploading files) or something happens such as you uploaded a virus.
It’s rare that your files can’t be process, if it’s so we will email you right away. In this scenario, you’ll see an 404 error page.
This is due mostly because our internal file scan process catch a virus which is vulnerable to the recipient. No further action are required for you. The file should be deleted within the first five minutes.
Your personal informations are also encrypted and stored in our in-house database. We manage this infrastructure. At CGT, we are committed to honor your privacy. This is why we don’t ask a lot informations about our users.
